Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America.  We are looking for dynamic leader for our South region which consists of manufacturing plants in Jacksonville, FL, Temple, TX, Nashville, TN, Mocksville, NC, and Fort Smith, AR.    

The Regional Vice President of Operations is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the respective branches in their region.  Primary focuses include P&L leadership combined with operational excellence such as safety, compliance, production, administration, and transportation.  Successful execution of these initiatives ensure our customer’s expectations are exceeded, Metal Sales is positioned as the market leader, and profitability is sustained.

Extensive travel is required (up to and more than 75%).

Let us tell you about the responsibilities and expectations of this role to ensure we are the right fit for each other. 

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Strategic planning, execution, and communication to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout region
  • Ensuring branches meet or exceed business objectives by focusing on timely and accurate production, financial and personnel reporting, KPI monitoring, and branch assessments
  • Assisting General Managers and working with the Regional Vice President of Sales in the annual budget setting and goal development processes to drive P&L excellence and sales/profitability growth
  • Developing General Managers and other branch personnel and sustaining a strong culture that empowers all employees to participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Driving key safety engagement initiatives to ensure employee safety as well as compliance with all state and federal laws
  • Recruiting, evaluating, and hiring leaders with the skills, competencies, and talent to propel the organization forward
  • Attending Executive Leadership meetings and assisting with the creation and implementation of strategic and tactical objectives necessary for Metal Sales to be a market leader

Job Requirements

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • At least 5 years of operational experience in a manufacturing environment with P&L ownership, preferably in the building materials industry
  • Multi-site management strongly preferred
  • A proven skill set demonstrating effective communication and negotiation, planning and organization, sound judgement, follow-up and control, and leadership
  • Ability to work effectively with and manage a diverse group of people
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Ability and desire to travel up to and more than 75% of the time.
