Job Description


The Jr. Systems Network Administrator will be responsible for providing a wide range of IT support functions serving approximately 700 users, many of which are in remote locations. 

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America.  The Jr. Systems Network Admin sits in our Louisville, KY corporate office and supports users across all facilities.

Let us tell you about the responsibilities and expectations of this role to ensure we are the right fit for each other. 

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Provide advanced end user support in the area of general IT as well as manufacturing information systems
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across systems involving hardware and software components
  • Assist Security & Network Administration team w/ Active Directory, Exchange and Terminal Servers management & maintenance
  • Provide backup to Helpdesk Support Analyst when coverage is needed
  • Various laptops and desktops management activities (OS install / repair, Removing viruses, Installing multiple software packages, Re-building corrupted end-user profiles, Troubleshooting technical issues, replacement of hardware components, etc.)
  • Assist in installing and managing office and shop floor printers, scanners, etc.
  • Assist in managing mobile devices (adding, suspending, upgrading service, adding e-mails and apps for business purposes, etc)
  • Help develop Standard Operating Procedures and document existing systems and processes to promote integration of best practices and process improvements
  • Participate in all IT team members by providing a wide range of IT services to the business, and will rotate being on-call (evenings and Saturday mornings) to support the user community

Job Requirements

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • Associate’s degree and at least 6 years of IT support experience, preferably with experience in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Prior customer relations/telephone and data entry experience
  • Problem solving skills in a fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with Windows OS ( Win 7, Windows Server 2008/2012), Active Directory, Office 365
  • Familiarity with networking technologies (DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.)
  • Some work experience with networking equipment (routers, switches, wireless access points), including security appliances (e.g. HW firewalls)
  • Commitment to be a contributing member of a high performance team
  • Ability to meet deadlines, to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects
  • Strong project management, organizational and time management skills. Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills
  • Natural curiosity and ability to quickly evaluate and learn new tools and techniques relevant to Systems Network Administrator function
  • A desire to provide top-notch customer service, even when under pressure
