Summary:  

This position coordinates, supports, supervises and manages all activities related to the design, development, implementation, support and maintenance of Metal Sales Enterprise Resource Planning / Manufacturing Resource Planning systems. The ERP Program Manager will be instrumental in successfully completing the rollout of our currently on-going NetSuite ERP migration program. Once the migration is fully complete, the ERP Program Manager will lead further development of the NetSuite platform which is expected to become Metal Sales core business systems platform for most organizational functions.

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America.  The IT Program Manager sits in our downtown Louisville, KY corporate office and expected travel is up to 50%.  This position reports to the Vice President of IT with a dotted line to the ERP Program Executive Business Sponsor.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Leading the successful rollout of the new ERP system to Metal Sales branches. This includes:
    • Data migration
    • Facility readiness
    • Configuration and testing
    • End user training
    • System conversion
    • Go Live support
  • Supervising and providing program and project management leadership over ERP/MRP related strategic initiatives. This involves activities from conceptual design through development, deployment and on-going support.
  • Interacting with, coordinating, and managing as needed the activities of all project stakeholders representing both internal and external resources and leading Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Project Managers.
  • Driving program planning by providing executive management with progress reports and project updates and maintaining on-going communications with members of an extended program team in a distributed environment.
  • Organizing and leading core project team meetings and representing all strategic project concerns across multiple departments and branch operations.
  • Occasionally assisting the VP of IT in other special projects or unique IT initiatives and participating as a contributing member of the MSMC IT team in other cross-functional activities or projects.
  • Keeping current on processes, protocols, and project management techniques to recommend and implement process improvements.

Job Requirements

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role: providing direct program and project management support of projects related to enterprise applications such as a multi-site ERP/MRP migration programs and projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Functional understanding of IT infrastructure issues, including virtualization, configuration, security systems and data back-up processes.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading project teams and successfully overseeing projects involving the design, building and deployment of ERP/MRP solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines and successfully communicating with both internal and external customers.
  • A four-year degree in a technical or scientific discipline or a combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in meeting the above requirements.
  • Ability to switch between hands-on day-to-day contributions, overall program and project coordination and management, high level planning and leadership level communication.
  • PMI PMP and/or NetSuite certification(s) beneficial.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States or hold a visa that allows you to work in the US for any employer without being sponsored.
