Summary:  

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America.  We are excited to announce a new high impact role for a Corporate Learning and Development Specialist. 

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for creatively designing and developing company-wide training and development initiatives, projects, programs, and communications.  This training and development content will provide organizational development services that drive change and impact the achievement of business results.  This new position reports to our Director of Human Resources and is based out of our downtown Louisville, KY corporate office.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Conducting needs assessments for a variety of positions to develop learning objectives, activities and materials based on identified needs.
  • Consulting with executive leadership, managers, front-line employees and teams to create customized training material to meet their developmental needs.
  • Planning, designing, and implementing training and learning initiatives, projects, and communications that support organizational and employee performance improvement.
  • Assessing and determining content delivery methods (e.g., instructor-led, technology driven, blended, field instruction, self-study) to ensure that each location’s training needs are met.
  • Developing and implementing metrics to measure training impact and customer satisfaction with learning and developmental initiatives.
  • Using and administering the Learning Management System to maintain training records, track courses, offerings, and training program participation; reporting results regularly.

Job Requirements

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years formal training and content development experience in a corporate setting.
  • A demonstrated ability to analyze information from a needs assessment and create, implement, monitor, and modify understandable training documentation.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Communication required.
  • Excellent oral, written & presentation communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with employee matters and information.
  • Ability to travel nationally as needed, potentially up to 35% of the time.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.
